Intro. to TIG Welding

Intro. to TIG Welding

Expand your fabrication skills by learning the TIG welding process. TIG welding uses a tungsten electrode (much like a lightbulb) to generate heat via electricity, and filler rod is added manually as needed. The TIG process allows you to weld a variety of materials and can produce high strength welds with a beautiful appearance.

In this workshop, we will cover:

  • Material preparation/cleaning

  • How to select the correct tungsten and filler rod

  • Torch and feed technique

  • Fixturing your part for welding

To provide the best experience, the class is limited to 6 participants. You will be sharing welders but will have ample hands-on welding time to practice laying beads on mild and stainless steel. After the class you are welcome to utilize a day pass and practice as long as you’d like!
